The user opts in to your list and in turn you setup sequential emails to be sent to the user through an automatic response. Conclusion to the comparison of Aweber vs iContact

Given the data above, you are looking at pricing and a couple of key features when comparing these two email auto responder systems. iContact has three key features that Aweber lacks, those features are the ability to do integrated surveys, Event management features to keep track of attendance, and an API. The feature that is in Aweber that iContact lacks is its ability to integrate with shopping carts such as google and paypal check out. This feature will allow you to add customers to your lists upon checkout. Overall however the abilities of these two are pretty similar. It depends on what you want to accomplish. Pricing is always a deciding factor, from a monthly contract it is cheaper to go with iContact which would be around 32% cheaper than Aweber. If you know in the long term you will need to use the system then Aweber is an attractive price point to commit to a year. Aweber ends up being 52% cheaper.

From a usability standpoint, both interfaces look pretty straight forward. If you are computer savvy it will be pretty easy to use. Both systems have a wizard like feel to guide you through the process to setting up a campaign. The iContact interface looks a little cleaner than the Aweber.

Here would be my recommendation for your choice path for an email auto responder, assuming you are anticipating 5000 contacts:

If you are looking for a short term solution 5 months or less, go with the monthly iContact plan.

If you absolutely need a survey tool with your campaign, your only choice would be iContact.

For a long term solution of 5 months or more, go with Aweber assuming you will not be needing a survey tool.

Your determining factor will depend on your duration of use. Obviously going with a longer term contract will save you money in the long run.

The biggest concern for any businessperson right now is the cost of operating your business. Marketing tends to take up the majority of those operating costs, especially if you are used to using radio and television spots. However, you will be surprised at just how easy it is to keep your internet marketing cost low.

In fact, many of the things you can do to market your business online carry no cost in and of themselves. Online classified sites, article directories, web directories, and search engines all allow free posting to their sites. All you have to do is choose the sites that have the highest page rank and develop marketing content that is keyword optimized for the search engines. However, you may find that you have to outsource those activities if you do not have time to do them yourself or in house.

If you do have to outsource, you can still keep your internet marketing cost low by using bid for work sites to find your freelancers. All of that experience may sound expensive, but in reality most of these people are in other countries and/or desperate for work, and you won’t pay as much as you might think. Instead of setting a price, you allow individuals to bid on your projects. You will be able to get quality marketing tasks completed with reasonable turnaround and low pricing if you choose the lowest bidder with the most reliability and the most experience.

How does a person make money on the Internet?

Here is a step by step process of what I did to make money on the Internet. It is all about affiliate marketing.

Step 1: Get a website. I use bluehost.com as my web host provide. For about $6.95 you can host a website for pretty cost effectively. With $324 in the bank I have already paid for my web hosting provider.

Step 2: Install Wordpress as your content management system. Wordpress is free with your web hosting provider.

Step 3: Get a theme. I used the Affiliate Theme by Unique Blog Designs. That is what made it easy. This is a pre packaged Wordpress theme that allows you to build turn key websites without any technical experience. Just pick a banner graphic and add content.

Step 4: Pick a niche. A niche market is important for Internet marketing. This will help you grab your audience and convert sales. Ensure that for your niche. there is a related product to sell.

Step 5: Sign up for a Market Leverage account. Pick a product to sell from Market Leverage.

Step 6: Write good content. Content is king. Content will lure people to your website as well as help you with search engine optimizataion. Write a few articles related to your niche and the product you want to sell.

Step 7: Cash in your check.
